“Food in the end, in our tradition is something holy. It’s not about nutrients and calories. It’s about sharing. It’s about honesty, it’s about identity.” Louise Fresco
You may have noticed that our posts have been a little less frequent than usual. Been wondering what on earth we’ve been up to? Well, we’ve just expanded into an exciting and delicious new range of creative construction – yes, we’re making food! And with it, hosting events, art, films and music in the gracious spaces of Benedict House in Queanbeyan, NSW.
Ben is now crafting delectable eats in the café, with new menus celebrating the region’s great food and supporting a joyful tradition of sharing. With tasting plates and late afternoon aperitivo (small tapas-style dishes), great coffee and sweet treats, we’re excited to be trying new ideas and keeping the café humming. We also have a great team working behind the scenes, helping us to bring the vision for good food, great art and new experiences to the public.
Meanwhile Bobby is also busy in the lamp and upholstery studio, with a focus on completing a range of beautiful orders in time for Christmas. Sneak peeks of those will appear here as we go. In the meantime, suffice to say that we’re flat out and loving every minute of it!
So, if you fancy a brunch, lunch, coffee or dinner in a gloriously romantic, unconventional and stately setting, come for a visit soon. We have artists who may appear as waiters, gorgeous gardens full of flowers and wonderful works on display. We’re open 9am-9pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 9am-6pm on Sundays – at least til Christmas!
