Corridors of confrontation and colour

Corinne Ying Zhang produces her striking, subversive work from a studio at the Artists Shed, behind Benedict House. These thought-provoking oil paintings from her ‘Cornucopian Bounty’ series challenge us to think about our unquestioning consumer acceptance of advertising, and the true harmful cost of our modern dependence on many comforting products. These paintings bring gravitas to Benedict House. Meanwhile, across the hall, local artist Alicia Kane’s  joyous  marbling works and colourful, organic ceramics brighten up even the darkest corridors of the old convent.

Meet the artists in person on Saturday 13th September.
